In the 7th berakha of the Amida, we pray for our redemption (גאולה). We look to G-d to "see" our suffering and to ultimately get involved in fighting our battles (וריבה ריבנו). Rashi comments on this berakha that the redemption being requested for here is NOT the redemption from exile, since that is the function of the berakhot תקע בשופר and תשכון. Rather, he views this as a request from our daily suffering that we each struggle with.
This appropriately follows the previous berakha in which we asked for forgiveness, as only when we realize the wrong we have done that we can even begin to ask G-d to stop our suffering.
